As of 01.01.2026, Bulgaria will join the Eurozone, which will affect accounts and wallets with the BGN currency. Learn all you need to know about this change below 👇
What will happen to my account?
- Main account currency BGN: As of 01.01.2026, your account currency will be automatically converted from BGN to EUR. All of your positions, funds, pie values and more will be displayed in EUR moving forward. You will receive dividends and share lending payments in EUR
- Wallet currency BGN: Your BGN wallet will be converted to EUR on 01.01.2026. If you already have an EUR wallet, the two values will be merged. If you have no EUR wallet, it will be created once the conversion happens.

Will I be able to access my account during the migration?
Your account migration to EUR is scheduled for January 1, 2026. The platform will be offline for several hours on this date for maintenance. You will be unable to log in until the migration process is complete.
What will the currency conversion rate be for the transition to EUR?
The conversion will be performed at the official fixed exchange rate of 1.95583, and the new amount will be rounded to two decimal points.

When rounding, if the third decimal is 5 or greater, the second decimal will be rounded up. If the third decimal is 4 or lower, the second decimal will be rounded down.
Will I need to pay a currency conversion fee for the BGN to EUR switch?
This conversion is free of charge. You will not pay any currency conversion fees for this process.
Will I be able to deposit/withdraw in BGN?
- Trading 212 Martkets Ltd. & Trading 212 Ltd.: Deposits and withdrawals will no longer be available as of December 31, 2025, at 17:00 UTC.
- Trading 212 UK Ltd. & FXFlat Bank GmbH: Deposits and withdrawals will no longer be available as of December 15, 2025, at 09:00 UTC. This cessation of service is necessary as our payment processor will be unable to support these transactions.

Any BGN withdrawal requests pending after the specified time will be cancelled, and you will need to request new withdrawals in EUR.
Will I be able to use my 212 card?
Your Trading 212 Card will be temporarily unavailable for all BGN payments and withdrawals on January 1st. This suspension is necessary to allow for system updates being performed by both us and our third-party partners.
How will this affect my positions?
After the change, your position's value will be displayed in EUR. The underlying position will not be affected.
What will happen to my pending orders?
On January 1st, the following actions will be taken regarding BGN orders due to the system update:
Invest and Pie Orders: All pending Invest and Pie orders denominated in BGN will be cancelled.
CFD Orders (Attached): Stop Loss and Take Profit orders that are attached to open positions will remain active. These will be replaced to protect your investments.
CFD Orders (Unattached): All pending orders that are not attached to an open position will be cancelled.
How will this affect my payments?
From January 1st, 2026, all deposits and withdrawals will be processed in EUR. The IBAN for bank deposits will change. For up-to-date information, check the 'Deposit Funds' screen.

For clients of Trading 212 Ltd, you will still be able to see all applicable indicators in BGN equivalents for reference in the app.
What will happen to my statements?
Account statements will be in EUR once the change has been implemented.

How will my demo account be affected?
On 01.01.2026, all demo accounts with BGN currency will be reset and their currency changed to EUR.
When will account openings in BGN currency be discontinued?
Starting 23.09.2025, new clients will not be able to open accounts where BGN is the main currency.
What happens with my interest on cash during the currency change?
The interest accrued for 31 December 2025 will be paid later in the day on 1 January 2026, due to the currency transition process.
Your interest will be paid in EUR, following the transition from BGN to EUR.
