They can be to and from Trading 212. You can transfer:

If you hold fractional shares, you’ll need to sell them and withdraw the cash.
If you later repurchase those shares elsewhere, your new provider may charge a fee.

Where can I see the supported brokers?
When initiating an incoming transfer, you will be able to search a list of all available brokers.
How long does it take a transfer to be completed?
HMRC guidelines recommend 30 calendar days for Stocks & Shares or mixed transfers.
Actual times can vary depending on your provider’s internal processes.
At Trading 212, transfers often complete significantly faster than these guidelines; however, the exact timeline can vary depending on the processes involved on both sides. While we aim to complete all transfers as quickly as possible, the overall timeline is influenced by both providers.
Are there any risks with transferring my portfolio?
There is no inherent risk to the transfer process itself. However, once it becomes irreversible, you can't manage your positions until the transfer is completed, which could take several days or weeks.
Is making a transfer going to affect my allowance?
No, transferring an ISA to or from another provider won’t affect your £20,000 annual allowance, regardless of how many transfers you make.
Can I transfer my existing stocks, or do I have to sell them and transfer as cash?
At Trading 212, you can transfer either:
- In-specie (stock transfer): your investments move as they are, without being sold.
- Cash: you sell your investments first, then transfer the cash.
Some providers only allow cash transfers, so check with yours before requesting the move.
Can I process a transfer from my Invest account?
Yes, you can transfer directly from your Invest account, but only in-specie (stock-for-stock). This means your shares or ETFs move to the new provider without being sold or repurchased.
