Yes. We can facilitate transfers of additional permitted subscriptions (APS) from and to another provider.
How does it work?
You can inherit your late spouse or civil partner’s ISA allowance. Then, you will be able to transfer its value as an additional permitted subscription to your existing ISA. This transfer will not count towards your current-year subscription.
What would happen with my partner/spouse’s ISA investments?
The ISA provider of your spouse or civil partner can sell the investments and either pay the proceeds to you as the beneficiary of their estate or transfer the investments to your ISA. Currently, we can only facilitate ISA transfers in cash.
How can I transfer the APS allowance?
We specifically follow the guidelines of HMRC and the TISA community, under which there are two scenarios for the transfer of additional permitted allowance:
- Subscribe to the APS allowance with the existing provider who also holds the ISA of the deceased spouse.
- Transfer your APS allowance to a new provider (in full and once only). If the deceased held more than one ISA with the existing provider, one aggregate APS allowance is transferred.
Whichever scenario applies to you, feel free to contact us, and we’ll guide you through the process.
