You can sign in or create a new Trading 212 account using your Apple ID or Google account. It's a faster way to access the app - no need to type your password every time - while our Trusted Device 2FA continues to protect your account.
❗️ Important
Treat your Apple ID and Google account password with the same care as your Trading 212 password. Anyone who can sign in to them on your device can also sign in to your Trading 212 account.
Do I need a Trading 212 password if I sign up with Apple or Google?
Yes. Right after you sign up with Apple or Google, you'll be asked to set a Trading 212 password before continuing with the rest of the onboarding. From then on, you can sign in either with your Apple ID or Google account for a faster experience, or with your email and the password you set.
I already have Trading 212 credentials - can I switch to Apple ID or log in with Google?
Yes. On the welcome screen, tap Continue with Apple or Continue with Google using the same email as your existing Trading 212 account. After a quick verification, the new sign-in method is linked. From then on, you can use either method to sign in.
Do I still need to verify my email?
No. Apple and Google have already verified the email on your account, so the "verify your email" step is skipped entirely when you sign up with them.
Will Two-Factor Authentication still work the same way?
Yes. Apple and Google verify who you are; Trading 212 still verifies which device you're on. When you sign in from a new phone or tablet, we'll ask for a security code from your trusted device and a motion selfie - exactly as we do for email and password sign-ins.
How do I disconnect Apple or Google?
Go to Menu → Settings → Privacy & Security → Connected accounts and tap Disconnect next to Apple or Google. After disconnecting, you can sign in using your email and Trading 212 password as before.
What is Apple's "Hide My Email" option?
When signing in with Apple, you may be offered the option to hide your email. If you choose this, Apple shares a private relay address with us instead of your real one - your emails still reach your inbox and sign-in continues to work as normal. If you have an existing Trading 212 account, we recommend not selecting Hide My Email the first time you sign in, so we can match the two accounts.
📄 Note
If you signed up using Hide My Email and later want to disconnect Apple, please contact our support team first so we can update your email address on file. This is to ensure you continue to receive key communications from us - such as statements, contract notes, and other regulatory notices - and that your sign-in remains uninterrupted.
I can't sign in with Apple or Google - what should I do?
Your email and Trading 212 password remain available as an alternative way to sign in. If your Apple or Google sign-in isn't working - for example, you've lost access to your provider account, or you've recently changed your provider password - you can sign in directly with your email and Trading 212 password instead.
If you've forgotten your Trading 212 password, tap Forgot password? on the welcome screen, follow the on-screen steps to reset it. As with any password reset, you'll be logged out of all devices and asked to verify them again.
If you no longer have access to the email on your Trading 212 account either, please contact our support team, and we'll help you regain access.
Sign in with Apple is available on iOS. Sign in with Google is available on iOS and Android. Email and password remain available on every device.
