Each Pie has a minimum investment amount (threshold). It’s determined by the lowest target weight in the Pie. Until the cash in your Pie reaches that threshold, the funds will remain uninvested. 💰
Here’s how to check your Pie’s minimum threshold:
- Go to the ‘Holdings’ tab
- Tap ‘Edit Pie’
- Select ‘Min Investment’ below the Pie chart
The minimum investment amount is also visible on the order screen before making a Manual Investment.
The Pie cash is displayed under the “Holdings” tab. Sometimes, orders might not get filled (e.g. due to market conditions or closed markets). In such cases, your Pie Cash may grow larger than the threshold but still remain uninvested. This happens because the cash comes from an incomplete order, not a new one, so it stays in Pie Cash until the investment completes.
📄 Note
While funds are in Pie Cash, they cannot be withdrawn manually until the order is completed or cancelled. During this time, both the ‘Invest’ and ‘Withdraw’ buttons will be disabled.
What happens if I try to invest less than the minimum threshold?
- Manual Investments: You’ll see a notification that the amount is too small. The funds will remain in your Pie Cash balance.
- AutoInvest: The scheduled payment will be added to your Pie’s cash until enough funds accumulate to meet the threshold.
What happens to dividends below the minimum?
Any dividends received in your Pie that are below the threshold are added to Pie Cash. They will then be included in your next Manual or AutoInvest order that meets the threshold.
What happens to cashback from my transactions?
Any cashback you earn is deposited directly into your account. If the amount is below the minimum needed to place an order, it won't be invested immediately. Instead, it will be added to your Pie Cash, where it's held with other funds. When you place your next Manual or AutoInvest order that meets the minimum threshold, this cashback will be automatically included.
How does Spare change work, and when is my money invested?
Spare change rounds up your transactions and saves the difference.
💡 Example
If you spend $4.50, the remaining $0.50 is collected.
These amounts are added to your Pie Cash. They are not invested immediately but accumulate over time. Once your spare change reaches the minimum investment threshold or your next AutoInvest order is scheduled, the collected amount is used to buy shares in your Pie - just like cashback or dividends.
