Pies and AutoInvest make it easier to invest regularly and stay diversified. With these tools, you can build your own portfolio, set clear goals, and invest automatically over time.
AutoInvest is designed to keep your investing simple and consistent. It allows you to invest into your chosen Pies (your portfolios) on a schedule that suits you, helping you stay focused on your long-term financial plans without the need to constantly manage your account.
What are Pies?
A Pie is a portfolio that groups several investments into one. Instead of buying each stock or ETF separately, you create a “Pie” with different “slices.” Each slice represents an investment with a target percentage. This setup helps you keep your chosen allocation automatically.
Trading 212 offers three types of Pies:
- Custom Pies: Build your own portfolio by choosing the investments yourself.
- Model Pies: Invest in ready-made, diversified portfolios designed by professional asset managers.
- Social Pies: Discover and copy Pies created by other investors in the Trading 212 community.
📄 Note
This is an execution-only service. Ready-made pies offer solely data on investment allocations and should not be regarded as investment advice or investment research. You are responsible for all investment and rebalancing decisions.
How does the AutoInvest work?
AutoInvest puts money into your Pie based on the target percentages you’ve set for each slice. This makes investing regular and automatic, with rebalancing built in.
Setting Up & Managing AutoInvest:
- When creating a new Pie: You’ll be offered the option to add an AutoInvest schedule. This is optional.
- For existing Pies: You can add, change, or remove an AutoInvest schedule anytime from the Pie’s settings.
You can also pause, restart, or cancel your schedule whenever you want.
- Flexible scheduling: Choose how often you want to invest – daily, weekly, monthly, every two weeks, every two months, or every six months.
- Funding: The set amount can be taken automatically from your linked bank card or your account’s cash balance.
- Execution: AutoInvest runs at 08:00 Central European Time (CET), provided there are enough funds available.
What are the distribution types?
AutoInvest gives you two options for how new money (and dividends) are invested in your Pie:
- Self-Balancing (Default): Money goes first to the slices that are below their target percentage, helping your Pie rebalance over time.
- By Targets: Money is split exactly according to your set target percentages, even if some slices are already overweight.
💡 Example
If you deposit £100 into a Pie with 5 slices, each set to 20%, AutoInvest will invest £20 into each slice.
