By default, manual investments use the Self-Balancing distribution method. You can change this from the order screen before completing the payment.
Manual Investing (One-off Payment) will use your account’s free funds along with any available Pie cash.
How to add funds to your Pie Manually?
You can add funds to your Pie manually. To do this, go to your Pie’s Overview screen and tap the Invest button.
📄 Note
If an action in your pie is already in progress, you cannot manually add funds to it.
Use the slider or type in the exact amount you want to invest. Below the slider, you’ll see a preview showing how your money will be distributed across the slices in your Pie.
💡 Example
The total amount you invest must be large enough for the smallest slice to be worth at least €1.00. For example, let's say your Pie is set up with the smallest slice of 4%.
To find your minimum investment, we calculate what total amount would make that 4% equal to €1.00:
€1.00/(4/100)=€25.00
In this case, the minimum investment required for your Pie would be €25.00. This guarantees that the smallest slice will be worth at least €1.00, allowing the trade to be executed.
The minimum amount can be located on the order screen before you make a manual investment or when tapping on the “Edit Pie” button under “Holdings”
What are the Pie's fund distribution options?
When adding funds manually, you can choose how the money will be allocated. Tap the arrow next to the Fund distribution label to open the options:
- By Targets: Distributes funds according to your Pie’s target percentages.
- Self-Balancing: Allocates more funds to underweight slices and less to overweight slices, helping your Pie move closer to its targets. No shares are sold during this process.
- Custom: Allows you to decide exactly how much goes into each slice using individual sliders.
After making your selection, tap Next. You’ll see a confirmation screen with order details, amounts, and any projected fees. If the markets are open, the investment will usually be completed within seconds.
How to cancel manual investments?
You can cancel a manual investment before it is completed.
- Tap the Investing bar at the top of the screen.
- Choose to cancel a single order or the entire investing action.
