Refunds are issued by the merchant, and how long they take depends on their own process. Here's what that means for you, and what to do while you wait.
đź“„ Note
We can only credit a refund once the merchant has sent it to us. We can't create, approve, or speed up a refund that hasn't been issued yet.
How does a refund reach me?
A refund follows the same path as your original purchase, in reverse. The merchant decides whether and when to issue it. Once we receive it, we credit it to the Spending Pot in your Trading 212 Account.
How long does it take?
There's no fixed timeframe we can guarantee, as this depends on:
- The merchant's own processing policy
- Their bank's and the card network's processing time
A few days' delay on a confirmed refund is completely normal.
My refund hasn't arrived - what should I do?
- Check your order or return status with the merchant first.
- If it's unclear, contact the merchant directly and ask them to confirm the refund has been issued.
What if the merchant won't help?
Try to resolve the issue with the merchant first, as disputes about goods or services are between you and them.
❗️ Important
If that doesn't resolve it, contact us to see whether a formal dispute (chargeback) can be raised.
