Why can't I unlock Complex Instruments (ETNs, Crypto ETNs, ETFs, ETCs)?
We are currently upgrading the onboarding process for complex instruments to ensure a smoother experience for our clients. As a result, the ability to unlock these instruments for the first time is temporarily paused for Trading 212 UK Ltd. clients.
Which instruments are affected?
This pause applies to the following complex instruments:
- Leveraged and Inverse ETFs
- Exchange Traded Commodities (ETCs)
- Exchange Traded Notes (ETNs)
- Crypto ETNs
Who does this affect?
If you have not yet taken or passed the Appropriateness Test for these specific categories, you will temporarily be unable to start the test. You will see a message stating "We’re Making Improvements" if you try to unlock them.
Why am I seeing a "We’re making improvements" message?
If you attempt to buy one of these instruments and have not yet unlocked them, a pop-up will appear stating that new access is briefly paused. This is a temporary measure while we upgrade our internal systems and onboarding flows.
When will I be able to trade these instruments?
We are working to complete these system upgrades as quickly as possible. We expect to reopen access to the eligibility tests in the coming weeks.
Does this affect clients outside Trading 212 UK Ltd.?
No. This pause only applies to clients registered under Trading 212 UK Ltd. Clients under Trading 212 Markets Ltd; Trading 212 AU PTY Ltd; or FXFlat Bank GmbH are not affected by this change.
