From 5 January 2026, clients who reside in Germany and are onboarded under FXFlat Bank GmbH will earn interest only on EUR cash balances.
What is changing?
If Interest on uninvested cash is enabled:
- EUR balances will continue to receive daily interest payments, visible in the Interest on Cash section of the app.
- Non-EUR balances (e.g. USD, GBP, CHF) will no longer accrue or pay interest.
📄 Note
This update ensures compliance with German tax regulations relating to interest earned on foreign-currency accounts.
Can I still hold funds in foreign currencies?
Yes. You can continue to hold, convert, and use multiple currencies as usual. Only the interest on non-EUR balances is affected - your ability to manage multi-currency funds remains unchanged.
Do I need to take any action?
No. You don’t need to do anything. Your existing cash balances remain safe, accessible, and fully usable.
When will the last interest payment for non-EUR balances be made?
The final interest payment for non-EUR cash balances will be made on 5 January 2026, covering the interest accrued for the previous day (4 January 2026). After this payment, non-EUR balances will no longer receive interest.
