What is Extended Market Hours?
Extended market hours (EMH) lets you buy and sell US stocks outside the regular trading hours, from 9:30 to 16:00 Eastern Time (ET). It includes pre-market trading, 04:00 to 9:30 ET, and after-hours trading, 16:00 to 20:00 ET.
Extended Market Hours give you an extra 9 hours and 30 minutes of trading time.
What are the benefits?
It lets you stay informed and respond to news and events outside regular trading hours, such as earnings releases, breaking news, or international market activity. It also provides greater flexibility in aligning investing with your schedule.
What are the risks?
There is less liquidity and more volatility than the regular trading session, which can lead to sudden price changes, more significant differences between the buy and sell prices, and slower order execution.

Which stocks are available for extended hours of trading?
All US stocks listed on the NYSE and NASDAQ are available for EMH trading.
Can I trade fractional shares?
Yes, fractional trading is supported during extended market hours.
How do I turn it on?
You'll see an 'Extended hours' toggle above the 'Review order' button when placing an order. Once the toggle's switched on, it'll stay enabled until switched off.

All order types are available for extended hours trading. There are no restrictions.
Why is my order not executing during the extended hours trading?
The extended market hours sessions have less liquidity than the regular trading session. Your orders may be delayed or not executed at all.
How can I turn off the extended market hours prices?
In the settings menu, you'll find the 'Extended market hours prices' toggle. Turn off the toggle, and you'll no longer see EMH prices.
Can I choose which orders are for extended market hours?
Yes, the toggle is per order. You can place one order for Tesla with EMH on and another with EMH off. You have complete control.
What order types are available in extended market hours trading?
All order types are available in EMH. There are no restrictions.

Where do extended market hours prices come from?
As with regular session prices, EMH prices come from the stock exchanges. We always use the best price, also called national best bid and offer, available across all of the 18 US exchanges.
