If the names that appear in your Account Details section are incorrect or are not full, or if you would like to change them due to a different reason, we will need to be presented with certain documents in order to comply with regulatory requirements.
Although each situation will be reviewed separately, we have created a list of the most common reasons for a name change and what proof is required so that the change can be completed:
- Legal Name Change
If you have changed your name for legal purposes, we will request an up-to-date ID document (identity card, passport) that contains the updated names and an official document (varies based on the country you reside in) which acknowledges the legal name change and is stamped by the issuing institution.
You may find the Proof of Identity requirements here.
- Name Change after Marriage
In case there was a change in your name after getting married, we will request an up-to-date ID document that contains the updated names and a Marriage Certificate, stamped by the institution which issued it.
- A typo in the names, made upon registration
If there has been a typo whilst including your names and its fix would not change the name details substantially, we will request an up-to-date ID document that contains the correct name.*
Note: The above list of possible scenarios is only indicative and in your particular situation, which we will review separately, different documents may be requested.
